How do i blend to photos using the gradient tool?

ive done it before but ive forgotten how to do it. And i cannot find the tutorial anywhere.





its photoshop CS3 Extended that i am using.

Copy the image as a layer.Work on the new layer,blend the new and first layer.Try several of the blending modes at various % settings.Save As and give each that looks possible a name.You may need to go to Layers and Flatten to do some manipulations.You also have the option of Adjustment Layers in your version of Photoshop.When trying anything experimental it is well worth having a notepad and pencil handy so you build up a learning resource.I made prints of the help sheets and kept them filed for future reference while I was first using Photoshop.It is a very complex and veratile tool and there are many ways of working around your idea,so note keeping is essenial.How do i blend to photos using the gradient tool?

There is a number of ways to do the same thing on PS, so its down to how you learn and how you use it.
