How do you set a gradient fill in one of the cells in a table in dreamweaver 8.0?

I want to create a black to blue gradient fill in one the the cells, but i do not know how. Is creating a jpeg file and setting it as the background for that cell the only way? Please need help! How do you set a gradient fill in one of the cells in a table in dreamweaver 8.0?
Yes, I do believe that creating the gradient in Photoshop or another program is the only way to do that, when creating your gradient try and make the file size small though in order to have a quick load time.
