How do you work out the gradient at one point of a circle?

Would you differentiate?How do you work out the gradient at one point of a circle?
Equation for circle is y^2 + x^2 = r^2

re arrage

y = (r^2 + x^2)^0.5

Differentiate using substitution

For example z=r^2 + x^2

so

=(z)^0.5How do you work out the gradient at one point of a circle?
x^2+y^2+ax +by +c=0

2x+2y*y麓+a+by麓= 0 so y麓= (-2x-a)/(2y+b)
